Japan had a very interesting release for Ecco when it came to the Mega CD compared to other regions where both games came in the one package instead of separate releases, and they gave it some top-tier treatment regarding it being a premium special release for the system. The CD version features brand new art for it by the JP series release lead artist Hayato Takebayashi depicting a number of friends (and foes) of Ecco backed by the fantastically weird skyway water tubes from the Good Future levels from Tides of Time, with gorgeous offset printed discs in full colour also sharing the beautiful new art. A really stunning piece in the collection, and something I was glad I picked up back in my high school days early on before it became a bit harder to find in good condition.
